My African Drumming Ensemble

I have always been interested in music, especially music from different cultures around the world. It all started for me when I joined the instrumental band program in middle school and taught myself the guitar and bass.

It wasn’t an easy transition but it did show me that I did not have to be confined to a single instrument, and so when it came time to choose my high school courses I chose Percussion for my arts credit. As it turns out I really enjoyed the percussion program and chose to take it again in grade 10 and 11. By grade 12 I purchased my own Djembe (- a traditional African Drum) and I now play gigs at events with my friend Tyler as an ensemble.
