Undefeated VEX Robot Build – “Chip Man”

“Chip Man” is the first in a series of group engineering games designed for our robotics class. The objective is to design and build a robot out of VEX parts, which can effectively drive, pickup, and store as many plastic poker chips as possible in a limited amount of time. The robot must also adhere to certain design constraints including: a maximum length and width of 13.5” and a 4 motor limit. In addition, none of the robot’s mechanisms may exceed its perimeter.

I started by quickly drawing out some designs by hand on some paper. They were then used as a reference when building.

Our finished robot went on to compete against other robots in our class and was undefeated.
